Professional Driveway Concrete Coatings

Your driveway is the largest concrete surface on your property — and the most exposed to abuse. Vehicle traffic, oil drips, road salt, UV damage, and Pennsylvania freeze-thaw cycles take a relentless toll. Tru Coat Epoxy and Painting installs heavy-duty driveway coatings across the greater Philadelphia area that protect your concrete investment while dramatically improving your curb appeal.

About Driveway Coatings

Driveway coatings are engineered to withstand the most demanding conditions any residential concrete faces: heavy vehicle loads, hot tire contact, oil and fluid drips, UV exposure, rain, snow, deicing chemicals, and extreme temperature swings. Standard driveway sealers provide minimal protection and require annual reapplication. Our polyaspartic driveway coating systems create a permanent, high-performance surface that resists all of these threats simultaneously while looking clean and professional for a decade or more. We use UV-stable polyaspartic and polyurea systems that will not yellow, chalk, or degrade under direct sunlight. These systems cure rapidly — often returning to light traffic within 24 hours — and resist hot tire pickup, the most common failure point for driveway products. Our decorative options include flake systems, solid colors, and textured finishes that transform a plain gray driveway into a statement piece.

We are Don Resin Class Certified and Microcement Certified — two credentials that reflect our commitment to mastering the most demanding coating systems available. Based in Broomall, PA, we serve the entire greater Philadelphia area within a 150-mile radius, bringing premium craftsmanship to every project in Delaware County, Montgomery County, Bucks County, and Philadelphia County.

Our Process

Driveway coating starts with complete surface preparation — diamond grinding, crack repair, and oil stain treatment. We apply a heavy-duty primer designed for vehicular surfaces, followed by the decorative base coat and broadcast material. Multiple layers of UV-stable topcoat seal the system. Expansion joints are carefully honored. Most driveway projects complete in 2 to 3 days.

Every project begins with a free consultation. Call (445) 444-2879 or visit our contact page to schedule yours. We serve the entire greater Philadelphia area including communities like Wayne, Haverford, Villanova, Doylestown, and Philadelphia.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is driveway coating better than driveway sealer?
Significantly better. Traditional sealers are thin, temporary barriers that require annual reapplication. Our polyaspartic driveway coatings are multi-layer systems that create a permanent bond with the concrete. They resist everything sealers cannot — hot tires, oil stains, chemical exposure, and UV damage — and they last 10 to 15 years compared to a sealer lifespan of 1 to 2 years.
Will the coating resist hot tire pickup?
Yes. Hot tire pickup is the most common failure point for driveway products. It occurs when hot tires soften the coating and pull it up when the vehicle moves. Our polyaspartic systems are specifically formulated to resist hot tire pickup at temperatures well above normal tire temperatures. This is a key advantage over standard epoxy, which is not suitable for driveway use.
How soon can I drive on a coated driveway?
Our polyaspartic systems cure rapidly. Light foot traffic is typically safe within 4 to 6 hours, and light vehicle traffic within 24 hours. We recommend waiting 48 to 72 hours before regular vehicle traffic and 7 days before heavy loads. Cure times vary with temperature and humidity — we provide specific guidance for your project.
Can you coat a driveway with cracks?
Yes. We repair cracks using flexible joint fillers and patching compounds before coating. Hairline cracks, minor spalling, and small divots are addressed as part of the preparation process. Severely damaged concrete may need additional repair work, which we identify and include in your estimate during the free consultation.
What color options are available for driveways?
We offer dozens of color options including solid colors, flake blends, and multi-tone systems. Popular driveway colors include earth tones, slate grays, and sandstone blends that complement home exteriors. We provide color samples during consultation so you can see how each option looks on concrete.
